Live Stream Security: The Organizer's Checklist

Ten questions every organizer of a sensitive event should ask before choosing how to stream - and the answers to demand.

Why a list at all

'The stream is secure' is a sentence every vendor says. The differences surface in details, spread across ten questions that are easy to check up front and painful to discover afterwards. This list is written from the viewpoint of an organizer of a sensitive event - a production, an institution, a family - comparing options with open eyes.

The ten questions

Walk the list against every option you consider. In Bima the answer to all ten is yes, and that is precisely the difference between a general streaming platform and one built for guarded events.

  • Is every viewer personally identified, or does one link open the door for everyone?
  • Can you know in real time who is watching right now?
  • Can a specific viewer be disconnected within seconds, without stopping the broadcast?
  • Does watching from a second device on the same code disconnect the first (single session)?
  • Is there a personal watermark that lets a leaked recording be attributed?
  • Is there a complete, tamper-proof log of every entry and every action?
  • Are team permissions tiered (an operator who sees the broadcast without the viewer list)?
  • Is the watch link protected against sharing (a unique code, rotating tokens), or is the link itself the key?
  • Does the recording remain the organizer's alone, with no automatic publication?
  • Does viewing pass filtered networks without asking the viewer to give up their filter?

And what about encryption and infrastructure

Beneath the product questions sit the infrastructure layers: traffic encrypted end to end over standard protocols, stream keys stored encrypted and rotatable in one click, and full separation between organizations in the system - one organization can see nothing of another, at the database level.

These are hard to verify from outside, so ask about them directly and expect a substantive answer. A vendor that takes these questions seriously - that itself is a good sign.

Часто задаваемые вопросы

Does every event need the whole list?

No. A public class needs two or three rows; a paid women's performance needs all of them. The list helps decide consciously what is required, instead of discovering a gap afterwards.

What is the single most important row?

If forced to one: personal identity per viewer. Without it no other mechanism truly works - you cannot disconnect, attribute or document someone who is not identified.

How does Bima answer the log question?

Every action - viewer entry, code issuance, disconnection, recording download - lands in a log that cannot be edited or deleted, not even by system administrators. It can be exported at any time.
