Team: Managers and Operators
A manager sees everything. An operator only sees the broadcasts they are assigned to - and nothing else.
Two Roles
Organization Manager: Creates broadcasts, manages the team, sets policies, views the audit log and settings. Automatically assigned to all broadcasts.
Operator: Operates broadcasts - broadcast sources, viewers, disconnection. But only for broadcasts to which a manager has assigned them. An operator not assigned to a broadcast does not see it in the list, cannot open it, and receives no information about it.
Assigning to a Broadcast
On the broadcast page, the 'Operators in this Broadcast' panel shows who is assigned and allows adding an operator from the organization's list of operators. Removal takes effect on that operator's next request - not at the end of the day.
This is the idea of 'user-broadcast assignment permission': The Rabbi who operates the weekly lesson does not see the annual conference, unless you have assigned them.
Invitation, Removal, and Protection of the Last Manager
Invitations are sent via a one-time link (displayed once, valid for 7 days) that you provide to the invitee. They choose a name and password - or, if they already have a Bima account, they log in with it. Pending invitations can be canceled.
Removing a team member or changing their role immediately closes their session. An organization is never left without a manager: you cannot demote or remove the sole manager - appoint an additional manager first.
Sign in with Google
Anyone invited via a Google email can sign in with one click using their account instead of a password. Signing in with Google is for identification only - it does not create an account: someone not invited to an organization cannot sign in, even with Google.
Frequently asked
Can one be an operator in one organization and a manager in another?
Yes. One account, a role for each organization separately.
What happens to an operator who is removed during a broadcast?
Their next request is rejected - within seconds. The broadcast itself continues.
