Personal Watermark - and Identifying the Leaker

Every viewer's screen has a unique watermark embedded. A leaked screenshot leads back to the individual within seconds.

What Appears on Screen

In every protected broadcast, a semi-transparent watermark appears over the video: the viewer's name (in a personal code), an 8-character session identifier, and the time. The watermark moves to a random location every few seconds, making it impossible to crop out, and a second, subtle copy resides in the center of the screen.

The watermark does not interfere with viewing - it appears as a subtle signature, not a subtitle. However, in a screenshot, it is perfectly clear.

Locating a Leaker in Three Seconds

Received a screenshot of your broadcast from somewhere it shouldn't have been? Read the 8 characters from the image, type them into the audit log in the console - and the system will tell you: which viewer, which code, which broadcast, when they joined, and if they are still watching. From there, you can disconnect or revoke access with a click.

The system is forgiving of reading errors: the letter O and number 0, the letter I and number 1 - are considered the same. The watermark uses only characters that are easy to distinguish.

Every such identification is itself recorded in the audit log: who checked, when, and what was found.

Deterrence That Works

The goal is not just to catch after the fact. A viewer who knows their name is on the screen will not take screenshots. This is the difference between a broadcast that spreads across groups and one that remains with those who were invited.

Frequently asked

Can the watermark be turned off?

Yes, in the broadcast settings. Not recommended for private events.

Does the watermark appear in the recording?

The recording is saved clean. The watermark is embedded during viewing, in the player, for each viewer individually.

What if the viewer covers the watermark?

The watermark moves every few seconds, and there is a second copy in the center. And in any case - the watermark is a deterrent; immediate revocation is the protection.
