Streaming a Dinner or Fundraiser: Turning Remote Viewers into Partners
The major donor in New York did not make it to the dinner in Bnei Brak. The stream is his way to be in the room - if it is produced at the right level.
Why the stream matters most at a dinner
The most important audience of a fundraising evening is often abroad. A donor who watches a smooth, dignified stream, sees the institution at its best and hears his name mentioned - is closer to the next gift than any letter can bring him. A stuttering stream achieves the opposite.
So the investment here is in production quality: a stable picture, sound from the mixing board, and clean transitions between speaker, projected video and audience. All of this is achievable today without an outside-broadcast van.
Multi-camera production without a production crew
Bima's studio connects several sources into one broadcast: a phone on the stage, a camera on the audience, and a computer with the presentation. One operator switches between them with a click from the browser, and the smart director can switch to whoever is speaking when no hand is free.
Define the team in roles up front: a broadcast operator who sees only the control room, with no access to the list of watching donors - a separation that matters on an evening when the viewers are the institution's largest donors.
After the evening: the recording keeps working
The full recording is saved automatically. Clips from it - the keynote, the tribute video - become follow-up material for donors who did not watch live. And whoever registered but did not attend receives their code again for the recording.
The viewing log itself is a working tool: see which invitees actually watched and for how long - knowledge worth a lot in the development team's follow-up calls.
Часто задаваемые вопросы
Can donations be integrated during the stream?
The stream runs alongside any existing donation page - send viewers the link in parallel, or project it on screen. A built-in donation system is not part of Bima today.
What if the operator disconnects mid-event?
The broadcast continues. Composition runs on the server, not on the operator's computer - their disconnection does not drop the picture, and they return to the exact same state when they reconnect.
How many viewers can join?
The infrastructure is built for thousands of concurrent viewers, and cost follows actual viewing hours. A dinner with 300 remote viewers is a routine scenario.
